Forte Village Swimming Academy is an amazing way to learn to swim or perfect your backstroke. Whether you’re a complete novice or a seasoned swimmer and want to hone your techniques, Forte Village Swimming is the best place to learn from the world champions of swimming. Our courses take place in one of our specially dedicated pools: the heated Castello pool, the saltwater pool at Baia delle Palme or the freshwater Oasis pool.
Coached by European Championship gold medalist Giovanni “Long John” Franceschi, who broke two European records in the 200 and 400-meter medleys and is now a world-renowned Italian Swimming Confederation coach, you will learn more than ever about this fantastic sport.
Our world-class Forte Village swimming instructors provide personalised, one-to-one lessons or lessons with small groups of up to three students. Forte Village Swimming Academy offers three levels of coaching to suit your ability:
Courses Available At Forte Village
Beginner courses
The level one (beginner) swimming courses focus on developing your comfort in the water and instructing you on entry-level propulsion techniques to ensure that you develop your own natural balance in the water. You’ll be taught to coordinate your breathing while swimming so that you inhale right when you head breaks through the water and exhale once submerged. By the end of the course, you will be able to swim underwater for short distances, correctly dive from the pool’s edge and will learn to how to float vertically on top of the water.
Intermediate courses
Level two (intermediate) swimming courses will teach you to develop your freestroke and backstroke styles as well as teach you the breaststroke and butterfly stroke (also known as symmetrical strokes) via coordination exercises. These strokes are taught at a preliminary level, so you don’t have to worry about perfecting your technique at this level. You will also hone your underwater swimming skills and learn breathing control, which you will practice by fetching objects placed on the bottom of the pool in both the deep and shallow areas.
Advanced courses
Level three (advanced) swimming courses are tailored to focus on your desired areas of improvement and will begin perfecting your execution of the four strokes as well as your starts and turns. Taking place over the course of a week, this five-lesson advanced swimming course devotes the first day to freestyle techniques, the second to breaststroke, the third day to backstroke, the fourth to butterfly, and on the fifth day you will review all of the strokes as well as learn regulation-quality starts and turns.

Forte Village Bike Academy packages include both cycling and half-board accommodation in a 4-star hotel. Choose from either a three-night or six-night package (you can also extend your stay depending on room availability). A three-night package begins at only €1,228 per person. You can also bring your own bike or hire one at the Bike Academy. Bicycle hire costs between €50 and €150 per day according to your chosen marque and level of personalisation.
Forte Village sports are proud to offer and exciting new sport: netball. SImilar to basketball, netball is perfect for both men and women. Netball is played on a court, but there is no backboard for its net, adding a level of skill and difficulty that basketball fans are sure to enjoy. The main moves in the game are simple to learn, making netball a great opportunity to pick up a new sport and stretch your limits with our world-class coaches!
Forte Village Rugby Academy
Experience the triumph of rugby and hone your talent with our legendary English rugby coaches. Play on the same squad with such world-class talents as England XV players Austin Healey, Jason Leonard (who won a spot in the International Rugby Hall of Fame), and Will Greenwood. These record-breaking players will teach you all the tricks of the trade so that you too can become a champion rugby athlete. Experience is not necessary – our Rugby Academy will be tailored to all experience levels, from novice to expert.
Designed for boys and girls age 5-16, our Rugby Academy launches with a welcome party where participants can get their photo taken with these massive English Rugby stars. At the close of training week, athletes celebrate with an awards ceremony and family barbeque where participants will be bestowed with their hard-earned Super Skills Star Certificate and medal.
Forte Village Rugby Super Skills Travel
In order to provide children with only the best possible sports training in the world during their Forte Village holiday, rugby starts Will Greenwood and Austin Healey founded Super Skill Travel, which ensures that children are able to both learn quickly and have fun while doing it, not to mention meet the top champions in their favourite sport!

Forte Village Cricket Academy
A British classic, cricket is known across the world for its dedication to fair play and respect for your fellow athletes. For boys and girls aged 5-16, Forte Village Cricket Academy gives them the opportunity to learn from the top professionals in the world, including Mark Garaway and Paul Nixon. Novices and seasoned veterans alike and learn from these legendary cricket players, honing their skills and picking up the best tips of the trade.
Suitable for all levels of experience, the Forte Village Cricket Academy is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to train directly with the great cricket pros. Whether you’re just starting out or have been playing cricket for years, there’s lots to learn with our professional cricketers.
Training week begins with a welcome party where you will get the chance to meet your favourite cricket stars and receive your exclusive Cricket Academy kit. After a week of intensive – and most importantly, fun! – training, you will have earned your place as a Super Skills Star and will receive both your Super Skills Star Certificate and a medal for completing the course at an awards ceremony held in your honour. You will also get the chance to have your photo added to the Stars Hall of Fame so that you will always be able to remember your amazing time spent at the academy!

Do you like to feel the wind in your hair as you race down the track? If so, you’ll love our go kart racing. Press your foot on the accelerator and feel your car take off, racing down the bends and curves towards the finish line. Challenge your friends!
Bowling
Listen to your favourite tunes while you hit strike after strike in our bowling lanes. The lanes are open in July and August both in the mornings and all night after 5pm. In May, June and September, the lanes are open in the afternoon and evenings.
